Intel Promises Up to 35% Higher Witcher 3 FPS on Core Ultra Series 3 with New 8531 Driver

Intel has pushed out a new Arc Graphics driver update, and it’s one PC gamers should pay attention to—especially if you’re playing newer DX12 titles or you’ve noticed inconsistent performance in recent releases. Arc Graphics Driver 32.0.101.8531 brings fresh game support, meaningful FPS boosts across multiple Intel GPU generations, and several stability and visual bug fixes.

On the performance side, the biggest headline improvement targets The Witcher 3 on DX12. Intel says players using Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors (Panther Lake) with Xe3-based integrated graphics can see up to a 35% uplift in average FPS at 1080p using High settings compared to the previous 31.0.101.8509 driver. Since Panther Lake is Intel’s first platform featuring Xe3 iGPU architecture, that kind of jump could translate into noticeably smoother traversal, more consistent combat performance, and fewer dips in busy scenes.

The good news is this driver update isn’t only about Panther Lake. Intel is also tuning performance for older Arc families, including both Arc B-series (Battlemage) GPUs and Arc A-series (Alchemist) GPUs, plus certain Intel mobile chips with integrated Arc graphics.

If you’re running Arc B-series hardware like the Arc B570 or B580 (or using a Lunar Lake system with Xe2-based integrated graphics), Resident Evil Requiem on DX12 is expected to run faster with this update. Intel reports up to a 7% average FPS boost at 1080p on Ultra settings and up to a 6% boost at 1440p on Ultra settings versus the prior driver.

Arc A-series owners may see an even more dramatic uplift in the same game. Intel’s release notes claim Resident Evil Requiem can gain up to 40% average FPS at 1080p on Ultra settings and up to 30% at 1440p on Ultra settings when compared to driver 31.0.101.8509. For players on Alchemist cards, that’s the kind of improvement that can change overall playability—helping Ultra presets feel more realistic without needing to immediately drop settings.

Beyond optimizations, Arc Graphics Driver 32.0.101.8531 also adds “Game On” support for several titles, including Marathon, Resident Evil Requiem, and World of Warcraft: Midnight (DLC). Intel also notes that this driver introduces XeSS 3 MFG support for Arc A- and B-series GPUs, expanding feature support for users invested in Intel’s upscaling and frame generation ecosystem.

Stability and visual fixes are included as well. Intel lists resolved issues such as a crash during gameplay in John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando (DX12) affecting multiple Intel GPU configurations, intermittent menu flickering in PUBG: Battlegrounds (DX12) on Core Ultra Series 3 systems with built-in Arc graphics, and flickering corruption during cinematics in Hogwarts Legacy (DX12) on the same platform.

While Intel hasn’t outlined performance gains for a broader list of games beyond what’s in the release notes, driver updates like this often improve overall compatibility and day-to-day smoothness across a library. If you have an Intel Arc A-series or B-series GPU—or an Intel Core Ultra system with built-in Arc graphics—and you plan to play Resident Evil Requiem or want better DX12 performance in general, Arc Graphics Driver 32.0.101.8531 is a logical update to install.
