Intel Ends Support and Updates for Deep Link on Its Systems

Intel’s Deep Link technology, launched alongside Arc Alchemist GPUs in 2022, is reportedly winding down. An Intel employee disclosed on GitHub that the feature will no longer receive updates, signaling its end of life. Despite this, it will still function, but without enhancements.

The revelation emerged when a user, SapphireDrew, ran into issues activating Deep Link with OBS Studio, software used for game capture and streaming. An OBS representative clarified that the problem wasn’t with their software but related to drivers. Eventually, Zack from Intel confirmed the discontinuation after a month, indicating no further updates will be released.

Intel had pitched Deep Link as a performance booster, promoting synergy between CPUs and their discrete GPUs. It was designed to allocate resources effectively, thereby optimizing gaming, streaming, and creative tasks. Some features included Dynamic Power Share and Hyper Encode.

Initially, Deep Link promised improvements specifically for Intel setups with 11th gen processors and Arc Alchemist graphics. However, its sudden discontinuation might disappoint users who invested in Intel’s ecosystem for this capability. While the feature remains operational, users might encounter unresolved issues due to the lack of ongoing support.
