GEEKOM has just unveiled an exciting new addition to its mini PC lineup: the GT1 Mega. This model stands out with a remarkably compact design, weighing in at under one liter in volume. Despite its small size, the GT1 Mega is geared towards delivering solid performance to meet the needs of everyday computing tasks.
At its heart, the GT1 Mega is powered by Intel’s latest ‘Meteor Lake’ mobile CPUs. Customers can choose between two 16-core options: the Core Ultra 7 155H for standard performance or the more powerful Core Ultra 9 185H. Both options promise swift and efficient operation, capable of handling almost any task a typical user might encounter.
The GT1 Mega also impresses with its memory and storage capabilities. It features dual SODIMM slots that support up to 64 GB of DDR5-5600 RAM. For storage, it offers up to 2 TB of NVMe via an M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 4×4 slot, with the option to add another terabyte of SATA storage through its M.2 2242 slot.
Graphics are handled by the integrated Arc GPU, a common feature for most mini PCs unable to house discrete graphics due to size constraints. However, serious graphics users might miss an OCuLink port for superior external GPU support. The GT1 Mega compensates with a USB 4 port, which still enables eGPU use but with slightly less performance efficiency.
On the connectivity front, the GT1 Mega is well-equipped to keep you connected. It boasts a variety of ports, including four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, two USB 4.0 ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, two HDMI 2.0 ports, and an audio combo jack. Networking needs are served by dual 2.5 G ethernet ports with wireless communication handled by Intel’s BE200, supporting WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
As for price, the GT1 Mega does come at a premium. The model featuring the Core Ultra 7 CPU, 32 GB RAM, and a 1 TB SSD is priced at $899. For an extra $100, you can upgrade to the Core Ultra 9, 32 GB RAM, and a 2 TB SSD. Unfortunately for AMD enthusiasts, there’s no AMD variant of the GT1 Mega. Those looking for an AMD option might want to consider the GEEKOM A8, which is currently listed at $849 and features an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS APU.
The GT1 Mega from GEEKOM appears to be a compelling choice for those seeking a powerful yet compact PC, combining capable performance with extensive connectivity options. Whether for daily computing, multimedia, or even some light gaming, this mini PC seems ready to handle it all.
