Citizen Unveils Three Flower-Inspired Open-Heart Mechanical Watches in Japan
Citizen has introduced three new mechanical watches in Japan, expanding its Citizen Collection lineup with elegant open-heart designs and floral-inspired dials. The new models, the Citizen PR1050-50W, PR1052-54A, and PR1054-59A, combine classic analog watchmaking with decorative styling aimed at buyers who want a refined everyday timepiece with visible mechanical movement.
The standout feature across all three Citizen Collection PR105 models is the open-heart dial. This small window on the watch face allows wearers to see part of the movement in action, giving the watches a more dynamic and traditional mechanical feel. Citizen pairs this with a round dial pattern designed to resemble a blooming flower, creating a softer and more ornamental appearance than many conventional mechanical watches.
Each model comes with a stainless steel case and slim metal bracelet, offering a polished dress-watch style suitable for daily wear, office use, or formal occasions. The design also includes three analog hands and a bud-shaped crown, reinforcing the flower-inspired theme.
The Citizen PR1050-50W features a pink dial with a rose gold-colored crown, paired with a silver-tone case and bracelet. The PR1052-54A offers a full gold-tone finish for a more luxurious look. The PR1054-59A blends rose gold accents on the dial, bezel, and crown with a silver case and bracelet, giving it a two-tone appearance.
Inside the new Citizen Collection watches is the 6628 caliber mechanical movement. The movement supports both automatic winding and manual winding, making the watches convenient for regular wear while still appealing to mechanical watch enthusiasts. Citizen lists the accuracy at approximately -20 to +40 seconds per day, with a power reserve of around 40 hours.
The watches also include sapphire glass, which provides strong scratch resistance compared with standard mineral glass. Other practical features include 5 ATM water resistance and type 1 magnetic resistance, making them better suited for everyday conditions.
In Japan, the Citizen PR1050-50W is priced at ¥60,500, which is about $379. The Citizen PR1052-54A is priced at ¥66,000, or around $413. The Citizen PR1054-59A costs ¥62,700, approximately $393. All three models are scheduled to launch in Japan on June 18.
At this stage, Citizen has not confirmed whether the PR1050-50W, PR1052-54A, or PR1054-59A will be released in the United States or other international markets. For now, these flower-inspired open-heart mechanical watches appear to be aimed at the Japanese market, where they could attract buyers looking for an affordable mechanical Citizen watch with a distinctive decorative design.
