Casio’s Solar-Powered G-Shock Debuts in Japan With Limited-Time 20% Retailer Discount

Casio G-Shock GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF Launches in Japan With Tough Solar, Bluetooth, and a Luxe Black Design

Casio has officially released its latest G-Shock model in Japan, the GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF, bringing a premium dark finish, Tough Solar charging, and Bluetooth smartphone connectivity to the popular octagonal 2100-series lineup.

The new G-Shock went on sale in Japan on November 7, 2026. While the recommended retail price is ¥42,900, some Japanese retailers have listed the watch for ¥34,320, making it available at around 20% below its standard price at launch.

The GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF stands out with a sleek Luxe Black design that gives the familiar G-Shock silhouette a more refined and modern look. It features a black ion-plated stainless-steel bezel, blue accents around the glass, gunmetal-colored hour markers, and metallic silver details across the dial. The textured black strap is made from bio-based resin, adding a more sustainable touch while keeping the rugged G-Shock identity intact.

Beyond its styling, the watch is packed with practical everyday features. Casio’s Tough Solar technology allows the battery to recharge using light, reducing the need for regular battery changes. Once fully charged, the watch can run for about seven months without further light exposure, or up to 18 months when power-saving mode is activated.

Bluetooth connectivity is another major highlight. When paired with the Casio Watches smartphone app, the GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF can automatically adjust the time, simplify watch settings, and provide enhanced world-time functions. This makes it a useful option for frequent travelers or anyone who wants accurate timekeeping with minimal manual adjustment.

Despite its stainless-steel bezel and feature-packed design, the watch remains slim and lightweight. It measures just 11.9 mm thick and weighs 72 g, making it comfortable enough for daily wear. Like many G-Shock models, it also offers 200-meter water resistance, giving it the durability needed for outdoor use, swimming, and active lifestyles.

Other built-in functions include five daily alarms, a stopwatch, a countdown timer, and dual LED illumination for improved visibility in low-light conditions. These features help position the GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF as both a stylish accessory and a reliable tool watch.

Casio has also listed the model as a new November 2026 release in Europe, although official European pricing has not yet been confirmed. With its combination of solar charging, Bluetooth support, rugged construction, and premium black styling, the G-Shock GBM-2100LXB-1A2JF is likely to attract collectors and everyday users looking for a more sophisticated take on the classic octagonal G-Shock design.
