Casio’s Sleek All-Black G-Shock Luxe Collection Arrives in the US

Casio G-Shock Luxe Black Collection Arrives in the US With Stealthy CasiOak Style

Casio has introduced its new G-Shock Luxe Black collection in the United States, giving fans of the popular octagonal “CasiOak” design a darker, more refined option. The lineup includes four new models: two metal-covered GM-2100 watches and two more affordable resin GA-2100 versions.

Prices start at $145 for the resin models and rise to $260 for the metal-covered editions, making the collection accessible to both casual buyers and dedicated G-Shock collectors.

The new Luxe Black series focuses on a minimalist all-black look while keeping the durability and everyday practicality that G-Shock watches are known for. With their stealthy styling, these models are designed to work with streetwear, casual outfits, office attire, and even more polished looks.

The metal-covered G-Shock GM-2100LXB models are the premium options in the collection. The GM-2100LXB-1A features a black ion-plated stainless steel bezel paired with silver dial accents, giving it a clean and understated appearance. The GM-2100LXB-1A9 adds a warmer touch with gold accents on the inset dials and around the glass perimeter.

Both watches use a matte black dial with a fine textured surface that helps reduce glare and reflections. Casio has also updated the hands and hour markers for better visibility. The slimmer hour and minute hands are longer than before, while the redesigned vapor-deposited markers help make the display easier to read without taking away from the watch’s subtle monochrome theme.

It is important to note that these GM-2100LXB models are metal-covered rather than full-metal G-Shock watches. They feature a stainless steel bezel over a resin-based structure, so they should not be confused with full stainless steel G-Shock models that use a metal case construction.

For buyers who want the same Luxe Black style at a lower price, Casio is also offering the GA-2100LXB-1A and GA-2100LXB-1A9. These resin models cost $145 and keep the same blacked-out design language, but replace the metal bezel with a black resin version.

The GA-2100LXB-1A uses silver vapor-deposited hour markers for a crisp contrast against the black dial. The GA-2100LXB-1A9 instead uses gold accents, giving the watch a slightly dressier look while still staying true to the collection’s dark, low-profile personality.

Aside from the case materials and accent colors, all four Luxe Black G-Shock models share a very similar feature set. Each watch offers 200-meter water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear, swimming, and outdoor use. They also include world time for 31 time zones covering 48 cities, a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer, and five daily alarms.

Other practical features include dual Super Illuminator LED lights for the analog face and digital display, a full auto calendar programmed through 2099, and hand-shift functionality that moves the hands out of the way so the digital display can be seen more clearly.

The familiar CasiOak layout remains intact, with a day-of-the-week subdial positioned at 9 o’clock and a small digital display placed between 4 and 6 o’clock. Battery life is rated at up to three years using two SR726W batteries.

The Casio G-Shock Luxe Black collection is now available in the US. The GM-2100LXB-1A and GM-2100LXB-1A9 metal-covered models are priced at $260, while the GA-2100LXB-1A and GA-2100LXB-1A9 resin models are priced at $145.

With its blend of rugged G-Shock toughness, monochrome styling, and versatile pricing, the Luxe Black series is likely to appeal to anyone looking for a durable analog-digital watch that feels both sporty and refined.
