Casio’s Oceanus Debuts in the U.S. with a Dazzling Sapphire Bezel

Casio has quietly dropped a striking new addition to its premium Oceanus lineup in the United States: the Oceanus Manta OCWSG1000CN1A. Now listed on Casio’s official online store for $4,800, this limited edition model is already looking scarce. The listing indicates only 10 units remain in stock at the time of writing, which matches the watch’s broader exclusivity—just 600 pieces will be made worldwide, each finished with its own serial number.

What makes the OCWSG1000CN1A stand out immediately is its dramatic, near-monochrome look. Casio describes the design as inspired by a moonlit sea, and it leans fully into that theme with a deep black titanium case and matching solid titanium bracelet. Both feature a diamond-like coating (DLC) that enhances durability while keeping the finish sleek and stealthy.

The true centerpiece, though, is the bezel. Casio uses sapphire glass here, and it isn’t simply molded or machine-finished. Each bezel is hand-cut by a master artisan using the Edo Kiriko style of Japanese cut glass—a traditional craft known for crisp facets and intricate light play. The result is a bezel that shifts in character depending on lighting, giving the watch a premium, sculpted presence that photos only partially capture. Adding to the lunar inspiration, the textured metal dial is designed to evoke the surface of the moon.

Beyond the aesthetics, this Oceanus Manta is packed with the practical, tech-forward features the series is known for. It supports Multiband 6 radio timekeeping for automatic time calibration where coverage is available, and it also includes Bluetooth connectivity for convenient pairing with Casio’s mobile app. That combination is aimed at keeping the watch accurate with minimal effort, whether you rely on radio sync, phone sync, or both.

For travel and daily usability, the watch includes world time and a second time zone display. The dial layout includes three analog hands and a date window, plus three inset sub-dials: one for the day of the week and two dedicated to the second time zone in standard and 24-hour formats. You also get a 1-second stopwatch and 100 meters of water resistance, making it versatile enough for everyday wear while still feeling unmistakably high-end.

Power comes from Casio’s Gallium Tough Solar technology, designed for enhanced power generation, helping keep the watch charged through light exposure and reducing the need for manual charging or battery changes.

As for availability outside the US, Casio hasn’t confirmed whether or when the Oceanus Manta OCWSG1000CN1A will arrive in Europe. For now, this release looks especially targeted and tightly controlled—exactly the kind of limited-run luxury tech watch that tends to sell out quickly once collectors take notice.
