Bafang has recently launched two impressive mid-motors, the M430 Cargo and M510RS, which could pose a serious challenge to Bosch in the electric bike space. These motors are crafted to deliver robust support, particularly for bikes tasked with carrying heavy loads.
Showcased at Eurobike 2025, these mid-drive motors are designed to centralize the center of gravity, improving balance while adding a bit of pressure on the bike’s drive system. The M510RS is targeted at e-mountain bikes, boasting a continuous output of 250 watts and a peak output of 790 watts. Its torque reaches up to 110 Nm, providing precise assistance with a blend of cadence and torque sensors, boosting your effort by up to 340%.
On the other hand, the M430 Cargo motor is tailored for cargo bikes, delivering up to 800% support with a hefty torque of 150 Nm, as seen in its North American version. However, this power comes with added weight, as the motor tips the scales at 4 kilograms. Enhancing the experience, the new Bafang Go app enables riders to customize these motors according to their specific needs.
While pricing and availability details remain under wraps, the high potential of these motors is clear, setting the stage for a more competitive landscape in the world of electric biking.
