Asus VM31 mini PC arrives with a tiny 0.55-liter design, Ryzen options, and plenty of ports
Asus has introduced the VM31, a new ultra-compact mini PC built for users who need a space-saving desktop solution without giving up practical connectivity. With a chassis measuring just 135 x 115 x 35.8 mm and a weight of only 330 grams, the Asus VM31 is designed to fit easily into small offices, reception desks, retail counters, classrooms, digital signage setups, and home workspaces.
The new Asus VM31 is not aimed at high-end gaming or heavy creative workloads. Instead, it focuses on everyday productivity, efficient performance, and flexible placement. Thanks to its 0.55-liter body and VESA mount support, the mini PC can be placed on a desk, tucked into a tight corner, or mounted behind a monitor for a clean all-in-one-style setup.
Inside, the Asus VM31 comes with AMD’s Ryzen 3 30 processor, which is based on the Ryzen 3 7320U. This chip uses AMD’s 6nm Mendocino design and features four Zen 2 cores, eight threads, clock speeds of up to 4.1GHz, 4MB of L3 cache, and integrated Radeon 610M graphics.
Asus is also offering additional processor choices, including the Ryzen 5 40, based on the Ryzen 5 7520U, and the Athlon Silver 10, based on the Athlon Silver 7120U. All three chips are 15-watt processors, making them suitable for low-power, quiet, and efficient desktop computing.
For memory and storage, the VM31 can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5-5500 RAM. Storage options include an M.2 2280 NVMe SSD using PCIe 3.0, with capacities ranging from 128GB to 512GB. This should be enough for common office applications, web browsing, media playback, point-of-sale software, cloud-based tools, and light multitasking.
One of the strongest points of the Asus VM31 mini PC is its impressive port selection. Despite its small size, Asus has equipped the system with a wide range of modern and legacy connectivity options.
On the front, the VM31 includes a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4 support, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, and a 3.5mm audio jack. There is also a Kensington lock slot on the side, which is useful for business environments where device security matters.
The rear panel adds even more connectivity. Users get two additional USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, another USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port with DisplayPort 1.4, one USB 2.0 port, a dedicated DisplayPort 1.4 output, HDMI 2.0 with support for up to 4K at 60Hz, a 2.5GbE LAN port, and the power connector.
Wireless connectivity is also up to date, with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2. This makes the VM31 suitable for modern wireless networks, Bluetooth peripherals, and cable-free workspaces.
The Asus VM31 is clearly built for productivity-first environments where compact size, low power consumption, and reliable connectivity are more important than raw performance. It could be a practical choice for office workers, retail systems, digital kiosks, remote learning stations, and users who want a minimal desktop PC that does not take up much room.
Asus has listed the VM31 on its official product pages, but pricing and regional availability have not yet been confirmed. Once it becomes widely available, the VM31 could appeal to businesses and home users looking for a small, efficient, and versatile mini PC with strong I/O options.
