Asus Set to Unveil a Next-Gen 4K OLED Gaming Monitor Later This Year

Asus is preparing to expand its lineup of Gen 3 QD-OLED gaming monitors with a new model that targets players who want both ultra-sharp 4K detail and extremely smooth motion. After rolling out multiple QD-OLED displays since adopting the technology in early 2024, Asus is once again leaning on Samsung Display’s well-regarded QD-OLED panel tech for its latest release: the ROG Strix OLED XG32UQDMS.

Built around a 32-inch 4K (3840 x 2160) QD-OLED panel, the ROG Strix OLED XG32UQDMS is designed for high-end PC and console setups where image clarity matters as much as speed. With a 240Hz refresh rate and a pixel density of about 140 PPI, it aims to deliver crisp visuals for open-world games, competitive shooters, and fast-paced action titles without sacrificing sharpness.

Brightness is rated at 250 nits for full-screen SDR use, while HDR mode is expected to push up to 1,000 nits in small highlight areas (around 3% APL). That combination is intended to help HDR content look more impactful in scenes with intense specular highlights, such as sunlight reflections, bright explosions, or neon-heavy environments.

For responsiveness, Asus is listing a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time, which is a key selling point for OLED gaming monitors thanks to their fast pixel transitions and reduced motion blur. The display also supports variable refresh rate technologies, including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, helping reduce screen tearing and stutter when frame rates fluctuate—especially important when gaming at 4K.

On the connectivity and ergonomics side, Asus includes an adjustable stand, three display outputs, and a three-port USB hub to simplify desk setups with multiple devices. While the monitor doesn’t include built-in speakers, it does provide a 3.5mm audio jack for headphones or external speakers.

As for release timing, Asus expects the ROG Strix OLED XG32UQDMS to arrive in parts of Europe by the end of March 2026. Pricing and availability in other regions haven’t been confirmed yet, but the specs position it firmly in the premium 4K 240Hz OLED gaming monitor category.
