NVIDIA’s current push toward 8GB graphics cards is starting to look a lot like what buyers are seeing in stores right now: the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is increasingly hard to find, and when it does appear, it’s often priced far above what most gamers would consider “budget” or even “mid-range.”
Across major retailers in North America and Europe, the pattern is the same. Stock for the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is limited, while pricing has climbed to the point where the value proposition has fallen apart. In some cases, the asking price is so high that just a few weeks ago that same money could have landed you a significantly faster GPU in a higher tier.
One of the clearest indicators comes from a well-known German retailer’s weekly sales snapshot. Not long ago, the RTX 5060 Ti was moving in solid volume—over 200 units in a week when combining the 8GB and 16GB versions. Now, total weekly sales have dropped to around 20 units. That’s a dramatic fall-off in demand, and pricing appears to be a major reason why.
In Germany, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB has been listed starting around 619 euros, which puts it in a range where many shoppers begin looking at alternatives that deliver better performance per euro. At the same time, AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB has been showing up at roughly 449 euros and is selling strongly, with around 230 units moved in the same timeframe. When a competing 16GB card is hundreds less, it’s easy to see why buyers are switching.
The trend isn’t limited to one region. In the UK, the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is often difficult to find at anything resembling a fair price, with listings commonly hovering at levels many would consider outrageous for this class of GPU. Meanwhile, the RX 9060 XT 16GB remains widely available at dramatically lower prices, reinforcing the perception that NVIDIA’s 16GB “budget” option is becoming a poor value.
US pricing tells a similar story. Listings for the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16GB have been spotted starting around $679 and quickly climbing above $700 depending on the model. By comparison, the Radeon RX 9060 XT 16GB continues to show up in the $399 to $460 range, creating a gap that’s hard to justify for cost-conscious gamers shopping specifically for 16GB of VRAM.
This pricing and availability situation also lines up with recent chatter about NVIDIA’s broader supply strategy. Rather than keeping a steady flow of slower 16GB cards in the channel, NVIDIA appears to be prioritizing other parts of the lineup—maintaining more consistent supply for lower-tier cards like the RTX 5060 on the budget end, and focusing on higher-end models like the RTX 5080 for premium buyers. The effect is that certain models in the middle, particularly 16GB variants that should appeal to mainstream gamers, can end up both scarce and overpriced.
For shoppers, the takeaway is straightforward: the RTX 5060 Ti 16GB is becoming one of the most difficult “reasonable buy” choices in its class, not because the product concept is bad, but because availability problems and inflated pricing have pushed it out of reach. As long as the RX 9060 XT 16GB remains easier to find and far cheaper in multiple regions, many gamers looking for a practical 16GB GPU are likely to keep voting with their wallets.
