ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 Appears With a Stunning $7,435 Price Tag
ASUS has once again pushed premium graphics card pricing into eyebrow-raising territory. The company’s ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 Edition 20 has appeared at a European retailer with a listed price of 6,499 euros, which converts to roughly $7,435. That makes it one of the most expensive GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards seen so far.
High-end RTX 5090 models are already difficult to call affordable. Many custom cards have been selling far above expected pricing, with some listings hovering around $4,000 or more depending on the retailer and region. Ongoing memory supply pressure and strong demand for flagship GPUs have only made pricing worse, giving manufacturers more room to attach premium tags to special-edition designs.
The ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is not a standard custom graphics card. It was introduced as part of ASUS ROG’s 20th anniversary celebration, making it a collector-focused model as much as a performance-focused one. The card launched alongside other commemorative ASUS hardware and peripherals, targeting enthusiasts who want something rare, powerful, and visually distinct.
Still, the price is hard to ignore. At around $7,435, this special-edition RTX 5090 sits well above many already-expensive flagship models. It even challenges the perception that ASUS’ ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is among the priciest versions of NVIDIA’s flagship GPU. While the Matrix model has appeared with steep pricing of its own, the Astral Edition 20 listing shows that ASUS still has room to go higher.
The ROG Matrix RTX 5090 was originally introduced at around $4,000, which already placed it in ultra-premium territory. However, current market pricing for certain Matrix listings has reportedly reached the $6,000 to $8,000 range, depending on availability and seller markup. That puts the Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 in the same extreme pricing category, even if its official pricing for other regions has not yet been confirmed.
It remains unclear whether the 6,499-euro listing reflects ASUS’ intended retail price or a retailer-specific markup. European hardware prices often include taxes and regional costs, so a direct conversion does not always represent what buyers in North America or other regions will pay. Even so, the listing strongly suggests that the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 will not be positioned as a typical flagship GPU. It is likely designed for collectors, showcase PC builders, and ASUS ROG fans willing to pay a major premium.
Compared with other high-end RTX 5090 options, the value argument becomes difficult. Some competing flagship models, including premium cards from MSI and other board partners, may be available at lower prices while still offering extreme performance, advanced cooling, and factory overclocks. For most gamers and creators, spending thousands more for a limited-edition design will be hard to justify.
That said, ASUS’ ROG Astral line has built a reputation around bold design, premium cooling, and enthusiast-grade engineering. The Edition 20 version adds exclusivity to the equation, which is often enough to attract buyers in the luxury PC hardware market. In that sense, this card is less about price-to-performance and more about owning one of the rarest RTX 5090 graphics cards available.
The GeForce RTX 5090 remains the halo product of the current GPU market, and special-edition models like the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 show how far manufacturers are willing to go at the top end. Whether buyers see it as a collectible masterpiece or an overpriced luxury item, one thing is clear: ASUS has delivered another graphics card that is guaranteed to get people talking.
