ASUS has officially revealed the US price for its ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20, and as expected, this limited-edition graphics card sits firmly in ultra-premium territory. While early European pricing suggested the card could cost more than $7,000 after conversion, the official ASUS US Store listing puts it at $5,499.
That still makes the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 one of the most expensive GeForce RTX 5090 graphics cards ASUS has announced so far, excluding region-specific special models. The card was introduced as part of ASUS ROG’s 20th anniversary celebration, which explains its collector-focused branding and premium positioning.
The $5,499 price tag places it above several other high-end ASUS RTX 5090 models. For comparison, the ROG Matrix Platinum RTX 5090 is listed at $3,999, while the liquid-cooled ROG Astral LC RTX 5090 OC is priced at $4,529 on ASUS’ official US store. That means the Edition 20 carries a significant premium even over ASUS’ already expensive flagship-class variants.
At the moment, the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is not available to purchase, as it is currently out of stock or not yet in inventory. Limited-edition GPUs like this typically have very restricted availability, and demand from collectors, PC enthusiasts, and high-end builders often causes them to sell out quickly once they appear.
Pricing at major retailers could end up being even higher than the official ASUS listing. Premium RTX 5090 models have already shown large markups at retail, with some special-edition cards being listed for far above their original suggested prices. In some cases, similar anniversary-themed RTX 5090 models have appeared at more than double their official cost.
The price also highlights just how expensive the RTX 5090 market has become. At $5,499, the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 costs nearly as much as five Founders Edition cards at official MSRP. That comparison makes the card less of a standard gaming upgrade and more of a luxury enthusiast product aimed at buyers who want rarity, design exclusivity, and top-tier performance.
The GeForce RTX 5090 is already considered the most expensive gaming GPU generation on the market, driven by strong demand, limited supply, and the rising cost of high-capacity VRAM. With many RTX 5090 cards already selling for well above standard pricing, ASUS placing its special ROG Astral Edition 20 at $5,499 is surprising, but not entirely unexpected.
For gamers looking purely at performance per dollar, this card will be difficult to justify. However, for collectors and extreme PC builders who want one of ASUS’ most exclusive RTX 5090 designs, the ROG Astral RTX 5090 Edition 20 is positioned as a showcase product rather than a mainstream graphics card.
