Intel initially set the stage for the NUC 13 Pro mini PC lineup by equipping it with Raptor Lake processors, leading with a 28-watt Core i7 1370P. Now, under Asus’s leadership, these compact powerhouses have seen a significant upgrade. The refreshed models boast more robust chip options, specifically the 45-watt Raptor Lake-H series, enhancing overall computing performance.
Asus has thoughtfully updated both the Slim and Tall variants of the NUC 13 Pro, now available with the potent Intel Core i5 13420H and Core i7 13620H processors. Although still part of the 13th-generation family, these H-series processors pack more punch, resulting in noticeable performance improvements across various tasks.
Despite the upgraded internals, the sleek and compact design remains unchanged, making them ideal for a range of environments. The refreshed lineup includes two SODIMM slots, supporting up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. For storage enthusiasts, these mini PCs offer dual M.2 slots. One supports a PCIe 4.0 x4 2280 SSD, and the other accommodates a PCIe 3.0 x1 2242 SSD. The Tall variant even allows for additional expansion by offering space for a 2.5-inch storage device.
Connectivity remains a strong suit for the new lineup. Users can benefit from two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a 2.5 GbE LAN, dual HDMI 2.1 outputs, and several USB options—including three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A and one USB 2.0 Type-A port.
Set for a mid-March release, anticipation for the refreshed NUC 13 Pro mini PCs is building. Eager tech enthusiasts can already find pre-order options, with the barebone Tall variant starting at $465 and the Slim variant at $455. The new lineup is poised to offer a blend of power and portability that tech aficionados will appreciate, fulfilling both professional and personal computing needs.
