Acer’s New Budget E‑Scooter Promises a 40 km Ride for About €350

Acer is expanding its electric scooter lineup with a new model designed to hit the sweet spot between practical everyday commuting and an affordable price. The Acer Nitro ES Series 3 Select is set to launch in Europe in the second quarter of 2026, with pricing starting at €349 (MSRP). Positioned above the ES Series 1, this addition to the ES Series 3 aims to deliver useful real-world features without pushing into premium e-scooter territory.

One of the main highlights is its claimed maximum range of up to 40 km, a figure that will appeal to riders looking for a dependable option for daily errands, campus travel, or last-mile commuting. Acer says the scooter’s Eco mode and its integrated KERS (Kinetic Energy Recovery System) can help stretch that distance even further. By recapturing energy while braking, the system can reportedly boost range by up to 20%, which could make a noticeable difference when you’re trying to get through a full day without recharging.

Acer is also leaning into safety and road-readiness. The Nitro ES Series 3 Select features an upgraded braking and lighting setup and includes turn signals—an increasingly important addition as regulations tighten across Europe. Acer notes that turn signals are expected to become mandatory from 2027, so this scooter is being prepared with upcoming requirements in mind rather than treating them as an afterthought.

For ride comfort and control, the scooter offers three riding modes and includes a cruise control function for steadier speed on longer, consistent stretches. Acer also plans a version capped at 20 km/h, aimed at meeting legal requirements for public-road use in Germany—something prospective buyers should watch for if they need a compliant model.

Like many modern electric scooters, the Nitro ES Series 3 Select supports app connectivity. Using the Acer eMobility app, riders can check vehicle status and view ride data in real time. The app also includes features intended to help optimize routes, with the goal of getting the best possible range from each battery charge.

With a projected €349 starting price, a 40 km claimed range, energy recovery braking, built-in turn signals, and app support, the Acer Nitro ES Series 3 Select shapes up as a compelling budget-friendly electric scooter option for everyday European commuting when it arrives in 2026.
