Xiaomi is preparing to expand its electric scooter lineup with a new, more affordable option: the Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite. Now listed on the company’s global website, this model is positioned as the entry-level choice in the Electric Scooter 6 family, sitting below higher-end variants like the Electric Scooter 6 Max.
Despite being billed as a budget-friendly scooter, the Electric Scooter 6 Lite still aims to cover the basics that matter for everyday city riding. It features a motor rated for up to 500W peak power, with Xiaomi claiming a top speed of 25 km/h (about 16 mph). It’s also designed to cope with slopes up to 15%, which should be helpful for moderate hills during commutes or short trips around town.
Range is clearly targeted at shorter distances. The scooter packs a 216 Wh battery, with Xiaomi estimating up to 25 km (around 16 miles) when riding at 15 km/h (about 9 mph). If you ride at the maximum 25 km/h speed, the estimated range drops to about 20 km (roughly 12 miles). In other words, it looks best suited for quick daily errands, campus travel, or last-mile commuting rather than long-distance rides.
For comfort, Xiaomi includes a 25 mm dual-spring front suspension along with 10-inch pneumatic tires, a combination that should help take the edge off rough pavement and everyday road vibration. Braking is handled by a drum brake at the front and E-ABS at the rear, aiming for more stable stopping in typical riding conditions.
The Xiaomi Electric Scooter 6 Lite also includes practical riding essentials such as a 2.5W headlight and a brake light for visibility. An integrated display between the handlebars shows key ride information like speed, riding mode, and remaining battery level. Riders who want extra control can connect through the Xiaomi Home app, where you can manage certain scooter functions remotely and view trip statistics.
Xiaomi describes the scooter as strong but lightweight, with a maximum supported load of up to 100 kg (around 220 lbs) and a total weight of 18.1 kg (about 39.9 lbs). It also carries an IPX4 water-resistance rating, meaning it should handle light splashes or occasional mist, though it’s not built for deep puddles or sustained heavy rain.
Portability is another focus. The scooter folds down for easier storage and transport, measuring 1140 x 512 x 555 mm (about 44.9 x 20.2 x 21.9 inches) when folded, making it more convenient to bring onto public transport or tuck away at home.
Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed an exact release date or pricing details for the Electric Scooter 6 Lite across different regions. Still, since it’s positioned as the entry-level model in the Electric Scooter 6 range, it’s expected to be the most affordable option in the new lineup. For reference, the older Electric Scooter 4 Lite (2nd Gen) launched with a suggested retail price of €329.99, giving a rough idea of the budget category Xiaomi typically targets with its “Lite” scooters.
