Above the Rest: DJI Confirms the Launch Date for Its New Avata 360 Drone

DJI is turning up the hype for its next drone camera release with a fresh teaser confirming the name and key capabilities of the upcoming Avata 360. The short video was shared across DJI’s official social media channels and, notably, it dropped earlier than many recent rumors suggested.

What makes this teaser especially interesting is how different the rollout feels compared to DJI’s latest product launches. In recent months, DJI has often introduced new devices in China first, with global announcements arriving later. That staggered approach meant some products reached DJI’s home market weeks before becoming available elsewhere. This time, DJI is taking a more unified path by teasing the Avata 360 simultaneously in China and international markets, signaling a more coordinated global launch strategy.

DJI is also being unusually direct in its marketing. Instead of hinting at a product through vague visuals, the company clearly names the device in the teaser: Avata 360. It’s positioned as a direct competitor to the Antigravity A1 and is confirmed to support 8K video recording along with full 360-degree capture—two features that place it firmly in the high-end immersive video category.

Alongside the official confirmation, recent leaks suggest the Avata 360 could offer more than just spherical video. Reports indicate it may also shoot first-person view (FPV) footage, similar to what users have come to expect from the Avata 2 line. If that hybrid setup is accurate, the Avata 360 could appeal to two audiences at once: creators who want cinematic 360-degree shots and FPV pilots who prefer fast, immersive flight footage.

DJI has set the official debut for March 26 at 12:00 UTC, as part of its “Above It All, See It All” event. With the name confirmed and 8K 360° recording already locked in, all eyes are now on what DJI will reveal next—especially if the Avata 360 truly blends traditional FPV performance with next-generation 360 capture in one device.
