A new wave of leaks has brought the DJI Avata 360 back into the spotlight, and this time the details go beyond fuzzy rumors. What’s being described as a supposedly official photo, along with newly surfaced pricing and launch chatter, suggests DJI’s long-rumored 360-degree drone is moving quickly toward release. Even more telling: leaked instructional video footage appearing inside DJI’s beta apps hints that review units may already be in the wild.
The drone has been a talking point since mid-2025, when early leaks pointed to a model many assumed would be called the Avata 3. By August 2025, the conversation shifted as reports suggested DJI was actually building something different: a true 360-degree drone designed to capture immersive footage and compete directly with other high-profile 360-capable options on the market, including the Antigravity A1.
The release timeline has also been a moving target. Early expectations centered on a late-2025 launch, but more recent information pushed that window into early 2026. According to the latest leak roundup shared by well-known drone watcher Jasper Ellens, a March 2026 launch is still on the table. The expectation is that DJI may roll it out in China first, which would align with the company’s pattern of staggered launches for certain products.
If that pattern holds, there are a couple of realistic scenarios. One possibility is two launches spaced roughly two weeks apart within March, potentially tied to different bundles or markets. Another is a China release in March followed by a broader global launch in early April. While DJI hasn’t confirmed any dates publicly, the appearance of an Avata 360 instructional video inside DJI’s beta software is fueling speculation that the drone is already far along in the pipeline. Leaked support or tutorial content often shows up when hardware is close to release, and it’s also a sign that early reviewers may already have units in hand.
Alongside the launch timing, updated pricing and configurations have now surfaced, and they paint a clearer picture of how DJI might position the Avata 360.
The leaked entry-level configuration is said to start at CNY 2,988 (around $435). In this version, the drone reportedly ships with just a battery and no additional extras, a bundle aimed at buyers who already have compatible gear or want the lowest possible starting price.
A mid-tier option is listed at CNY 3,988 (around $575) and includes an RC 2 remote controller, which would appeal to users who want a traditional controller setup right out of the box.
At the top end, a more complete kit is rumored for CNY 5,688 (around $825). This bundle is said to include three batteries, a charging hub, a carry case, and a choice of either an RC 2 remote controller or Goggles N3, giving buyers a more immersive flying option depending on how they plan to shoot and pilot.
If these details prove accurate, DJI looks set to offer multiple Avata 360 bundles that cover casual users, creators upgrading from earlier Avata models, and enthusiasts who want a full kit on day one. With March 2026 now looking like the key window to watch—and leaked video suggesting the product is already being demonstrated for reviewers—the DJI Avata 360 could be one of the more talked-about drone launches of early 2026.
