Xiaomi Unveils a Power-Saving Smart Air Conditioner Designed for Smarter, Greener Cooling

Xiaomi has opened pre-orders in China for its latest smart air conditioner, the Mi Home Air Conditioner Super Energy Saving Pro (Super Energy Efficiency Level 1). This new model builds on the earlier Mi Home Air Conditioner Super Energy Saving version, bringing a mix of performance and efficiency upgrades designed for faster cooling and heating while using less electricity.

A big focus here is energy efficiency. Xiaomi says the Super Energy Saving Pro delivers a higher Annual Performance Factor (APF) of 5.31, positioning it as more efficient than the standard model. On top of that, it includes an AI-powered energy-saving algorithm that can cut power consumption by up to 45%, according to the company. For buyers comparing running costs—especially in hotter regions or homes that rely on air conditioning daily—those efficiency gains are likely to be one of the key selling points.

The unit is a floor-standing air conditioner designed to push air across a large area. It supports both vertical and horizontal airflow, giving you more control over where the cool or warm air goes. Xiaomi also highlights a 120 mm cross-flow fan blade setup that produces an airflow rate of 1,760 m³/h, aimed at cooling or heating rooms quickly. Air can reach up to 13 meters, and the wide-angle outlet spans 115°, which should help distribute airflow more evenly across larger spaces.

On the smart home side, Xiaomi includes support for HyperOS Connect, making it easier to integrate the air conditioner with compatible Xiaomi smart home devices. Remote controls via an app are also part of the package, allowing you to adjust settings when you’re not in the room—or even when you’re away from home.

Pricing in China is set at CNY 6,699 (around $975) for the 3HP version. As for availability outside China, it doesn’t sound likely at this time, particularly in places like Europe where Xiaomi already offers other air conditioner models aimed at that market.
