Xiaomi Unveils Next-Gen Flagship Smart Air Conditioner Delivering Powerful, High-Efficiency Cooling

Xiaomi has expanded its smart home lineup in China with a new flagship wall-mounted unit: the Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro 1.5 HP (Super Level 1 Energy Efficiency). Positioned as an upgrade over the previous generation, Xiaomi says this model delivers superior cooling and heating performance, aiming to make temperature changes feel noticeably faster and more efficient in everyday use.

One of the biggest highlights is speed. Xiaomi claims the air conditioner can cool or warm a room quickly enough that users may start feeling the effect in as little as 161 seconds. That quick response is supported by new airflow-focused hardware, including a 118 mm long fan blade and a design that uses both inner and outer air deflectors to expand the outlet area. On paper, the airflow rate reaches up to 1,000 m³/h, which should help move conditioned air more effectively across the room rather than concentrating it in one spot.

Energy efficiency is also a major selling point. Xiaomi pairs the unit with an energy-saving algorithm designed to automatically adjust settings and reduce power consumption without constant manual tweaking. The company lists an annual performance factor (APF) of 6.30, reinforcing its “Super Level 1” efficiency positioning for the Chinese market and targeting buyers who want strong performance without high ongoing electricity costs.

As expected from a modern Xiaomi appliance, smart features are built in. The Mijia Air Conditioner Powerful Air Pro includes intelligent diagnostics that can detect more than 120 potential issues, including problems like blockages, helping users identify faults earlier. It also includes a self-cleaning function, a popular feature for maintaining airflow quality and reducing buildup over time.

Connectivity is centered around HyperOS Connect, allowing the air conditioner to integrate into Xiaomi’s broader smart home ecosystem. Users can control it remotely through Xiaomi’s app and also use voice commands, making it easier to adjust temperature, modes, and settings without needing the remote control.

Pricing in China is set at CNY 4,899 (around $718). Xiaomi already sells smart air conditioners in parts of Europe, but the company hasn’t confirmed whether this newer Powerful Air Pro model will launch in European markets. For now, it remains a China release, though its combination of fast cooling and heating, smart diagnostics, self-cleaning, and high efficiency suggests it could appeal to a wider audience if it expands internationally.
