Xiaomi Unveils a High-Powered Robot Vacuum That Scrubs with a Roller Mop

Xiaomi has introduced a new flagship cleaning robot in China: the Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro. If it rolls out internationally, it’s widely expected to be marketed as the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum 6 Pro. The model builds on the previous Robot Vacuum 5 Pro from 2025, with a clear focus on stronger suction, smarter edge cleaning, and a more advanced mopping and self-cleaning routine.

One of the biggest headline upgrades is power. The Mi Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro delivers up to 30,000 Pa of suction, positioning it as a high-performance option for homes dealing with dust, crumbs, and pet hair. Xiaomi pairs that suction with a central roller brush and dual extending arms designed to reach along edges and into corners—areas that many robot vacuums traditionally miss or only partially clean.

Mopping is also a major focus. Rather than relying on a basic pad that can smear grime around, this model uses a roller mopping system that feeds fresh water onto the roller. An integrated scraper helps remove debris and dirty water as it works, which is intended to reduce streaking and prevent dirt from being spread across the floor. When the robot returns to its docking station, the system cleans the mop using 85°C hot water and then dries it using 50°C hot air—features aimed at improving hygiene and reducing odors between cleaning sessions.

Xiaomi also leans heavily into AI-based cleaning adjustments. The company says the robot can recognize 47 types of stains and automatically change how it cleans based on what it detects. For navigation and day-to-day reliability, it combines LiDAR mapping with a triple-camera setup that enables obstacle recognition and avoidance. Xiaomi claims it can detect and steer around 280 types of obstacles, helping it avoid common household hazards and reduce interruptions during a run.

Despite packing advanced sensors, the robot is built to stay slim. A retractable sensor helps keep the height to about 90 mm, which should make it easier to fit under low furniture like beds and sofas. It’s also designed to handle raised transitions, with support for climbing obstacles up to 4 cm in two steps (3 cm and 1 cm), which can be helpful for thresholds and uneven surfaces in some homes.

For smart home control, the Mi Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro supports HyperOS Connect. That enables remote controls through Xiaomi’s app, along with Xiao AI voice commands for hands-free operation.

Pricing in China starts at CNY 3,799 (around $554) for the water tank version. Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether the Mi Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro will launch in more regions, so availability outside China—including markets like Germany—remains uncertain for now.
