Casio’s New Metal Smartwatches With Built-In Heart-Rate Tracking Have Arrived in the US

Casio has quietly brought two new premium G-Shock Move watches to the United States, giving fitness-focused fans of the classic square design a fresh option with modern health tracking built in. The new G-Shock Move GMH5600 series first surfaced in early leaks, then launched in Japan in March 2026. Now they’re officially available for US buyers.

Shoppers can pick up the G-Shock GMH5600-1 in a black and silver finish or the GMH5600-9 in black and gold. Both models are priced at $385 and are currently sold through Casio’s US online store. They’re also available in person at Casio’s SoHo store in New York City for anyone who prefers trying one on before committing.

What makes the GMH5600 line stand out is how it blends the familiar G-Shock square look with fitness features that are typically reserved for dedicated sports watches. These models use a negative memory-in-pixel (MIP) LCD display, meaning you get a black background with lighter digits and a crisp, high-resolution look. The screen can be customized through the Casio Watches app, and a backlight can be activated instantly with a button press for visibility in low light.

Built for a more active lifestyle, the GMH5600 includes an optical sensor for heart rate tracking and an accelerometer to measure step count. Casio also brings deeper training insights through the Polar smartwatch library, helping users review workout performance with tools such as cardio load status and sleep health monitoring. For runners and walkers, activity tracking includes the ability to log up to 100 runs, and distance data is improved by using GPS information from a connected smartphone.

Beyond fitness tracking, the GMH5600 keeps the practical features G-Shock owners expect. You’ll find moon data, sunrise and sunset times, a 1-second stopwatch, multiple daily alarms, and support for 38 time zones, making it useful for travel and everyday scheduling as well as training.

The hardware leans into a more premium, metal-forward feel. Both watches feature a stainless-steel bezel, with the GMH5600-9 getting an ion-plated finish for its gold tone. The case uses a lightweight carbon fiber-reinforced resin construction, paired with a resin strap designed for comfort and durability. True to the G-Shock name, the GMH5600 is shock resistant and water resistant down to 200 meters.

Battery flexibility is another highlight. These watches can be charged via USB using a dedicated cable and can also be topped up with solar power when you’re outdoors. Casio estimates around 35 hours of use with heart rate measurements active, about a month in regular watch mode without heart rate tracking, or up to 11 months in power-saving mode.

As for a wider rollout, Casio hasn’t confirmed when the GMH5600 series will arrive in Europe. For now, US availability is the big news, and it gives buyers an appealing new choice if they want a rugged G-Shock with heart rate tracking, app customization, and performance metrics in a premium metal design.
