Xiaomi has introduced a new smart cleaner in China: the Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6. The launch comes soon after the Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 Pro surfaced, giving buyers another option in Xiaomi’s growing robot vacuum lineup—this time with meaningful upgrades aimed at better everyday cleaning.
The biggest improvement is power. The Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 is rated for up to 28,000 Pa of suction, a noticeable step up from the previous Robot Vacuum and Mop 5, which topped out at 23,000 Pa. Higher suction can make a real difference when pulling dust and debris out of carpets, grabbing fine particles from hard floors, and handling messes that tend to collect along edges.
Mopping has also been reworked. Instead of the rotating mop heads used on earlier models, Xiaomi has moved to a roller-style mopping system designed to scrub more effectively. The roller is continuously fed with fresh water, while an internal scraper helps remove collected grime, keeping the mop cleaner as it works its way through the home. For households dealing with frequent footprints, kitchen spills, or pet-related messes, this could translate into more consistent results across a full cleaning run.
For vacuuming performance and corner coverage, the robot includes a main brush plus two extendable brush arms to better reach along walls and into corners—areas where many robot vacuums struggle. Despite packing in these features, the unit maintains a slim profile at about 90 mm tall, helping it fit under more sofas, cabinets, and beds.
Navigation and avoidance are boosted by onboard cameras that can detect and avoid up to 220 types of obstacles. That’s useful for common real-world clutter like cables, shoes, and small objects that can interrupt cleaning. Xiaomi also highlights improved climbing ability: the robot can handle thresholds or small steps up to 40 mm in two stages (30 mm and 10 mm), which may help it move between rooms more reliably in homes with uneven transitions.
Another major feature is the included intelligent docking station. It supports hot-water mop washing at up to 80°C (176°F) and includes a removable cleaning tray, which should make maintenance simpler. As with other Xiaomi smart home products, the robot can be controlled remotely through the Xiaomi app and integrated with devices across Xiaomi’s ecosystem, allowing for scheduled cleanings and smart-home routines.
Pricing in China is set at CNY 2,699 (around $395). Xiaomi hasn’t confirmed whether the Mi Home Robot Vacuum and Mop 6 will launch internationally yet, but past releases suggest it could eventually arrive in countries like those in Europe under a simplified name such as “Robot Vacuum 6.” For now, global availability remains unannounced.
