Oppo Pad Mini Spotted on Geekbench: Pocket-Sized OLED Tablet Tipped to Pack a Snapdragon 8-Series Chip

A new Oppo tablet believed to be the Oppo Pad Mini has appeared in an early benchmark listing, giving a clearer look at what could be one of the most interesting compact Android tablets launching this year. The device shows up with the model number OPD2515 and is widely expected to debut in China on April 21.

The benchmark entry suggests the Oppo Pad Mini will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM. Built on a 3nm process, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 is positioned just under Qualcomm’s top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, making it a strong choice for a smaller tablet designed to balance performance, thermals, and battery life.

In the results shown, the Oppo Pad Mini records 2,762 points in the single-core test and 9,037 points in the multi-core test. Compared with a recent premium Android tablet running the Snapdragon 8 Elite, the Pad Mini’s single-core score trails by roughly 14%, while multi-core performance is much closer, with only about a 3% difference. That kind of gap hints the Pad Mini should still feel fast in everyday use—multitasking, media, and gaming included—especially for a compact form factor.

Another detail revealed by the listing is the software: the tablet appears to be running Android 16. If this holds true at launch, it would give the Oppo Pad Mini an advantage for buyers who care about being on the newest Android version from day one.

Leaks also point to an 8.8-inch OLED display with a 3:2 aspect ratio. That screen size and shape could make the Pad Mini particularly appealing for reading, browsing, split-screen productivity, and comics, while OLED should deliver deeper contrast and punchier colors for streaming and games. On the power side, the tablet is rumored to pack an 8,000mAh battery with 67W fast charging, a combination that could be ideal for a compact tablet meant to travel—big enough to last, fast enough to top up quickly.

Oppo is also expected to unveil another tablet alongside it: the Oppo Pad 5 Pro, which is rumored to target the flagship segment with the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. If both devices launch together, Oppo could be aiming to cover two popular niches at once: a high-end large tablet option and a premium compact OLED tablet for users who want portability without sacrificing performance.
