Xiaomi is gearing up to bring its next budget-friendly smartwatch to more markets, with new global listings revealing key details about the upcoming Redmi Watch 6 and Redmi Watch 6 NFC. If you’ve been waiting for an affordable smartwatch that doesn’t skimp on everyday essentials like a bright AMOLED screen, GPS, and long battery life, these two models look worth keeping an eye on.
The listings confirm that Xiaomi plans to offer both versions in Obsidian Black and Silver Grey. There’s also a small style difference between the two: the standard Redmi Watch 6 will be available in an extra Glacier Blue finish, while the NFC model appears to miss out on that color option.
In terms of build, Xiaomi is sticking with a lightweight, sporty design. Both variants are set to feature an aluminium alloy frame paired with TPU straps. The straps are designed to fit wrists measuring 135 to 205 mm, which should cover most users comfortably whether you prefer a snug fit for workouts or a looser fit for all-day wear.
Where these watches aim to stand out in the budget smartwatch space is the feature list. Xiaomi is including GPS and Bluetooth 5.4 across the lineup, making the Redmi Watch 6 series a solid option for tracking outdoor activities and staying connected to your phone. Battery life is another major highlight, with Xiaomi claiming up to 24 days from a 550 mAh battery—an especially attractive figure for anyone tired of charging wearables every few days.
Display quality also looks impressive for the price category. The Redmi Watch 6 models are expected to come with a 2.07-inch AMOLED display with a 432 x 514 resolution, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,000 nits peak brightness. That combination should translate to sharp visuals, smooth scrolling, and better visibility outdoors, even under strong sunlight.
One important detail is still missing: Xiaomi hasn’t yet confirmed exactly when the Redmi Watch 6 and Redmi Watch 6 NFC will go on sale internationally. For now, the listings suggest a global launch is planned, but pricing and availability timing remain under wraps.
