After teasing the phone’s design and its massive rated battery capacity, Xiaomi has now confirmed key details about charging—one of the biggest reasons this upcoming sub-flagship is generating buzz.
According to the latest official teaser, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will include Xiaomi’s Surge P3 charging chip. One standout feature enabled by this chip is up to 27W reverse charging, which means the phone can share power with other devices at a relatively fast rate. With a huge battery onboard, the Turbo 5 Max could double as a handy backup power source for accessories like wireless earbuds, another phone, or other USB-powered gadgets when you’re away from an outlet.
Xiaomi also confirmed the Redmi Turbo 5 Max supports 100W fast charging. That’s a significant pairing with the phone’s 9,000mAh battery, and it should help reduce the downtime typically associated with high-capacity batteries.
