Xiaomi has officially pulled back the curtain on the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, revealing the phone’s complete design ahead of its expected launch. The device is shaping up to be one of the first smartphones powered by MediaTek’s newly announced Dimensity 9500s chipset, a processor positioned to deliver flagship-level performance.
In the newly shared official renders, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max looks very familiar. The rear design closely mirrors the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, keeping a clean, modern layout that emphasizes the camera module without dramatically changing the overall style. The images also confirm a 50MP main camera on the back, and it may be the same bright f/1.5 primary sensor used on the Turbo 4 Pro. Alongside it is a second rear camera, which is widely expected to be an ultrawide lens for more versatile shots.
On the front, Xiaomi is going with a sleek, premium presentation: thin bezels on all four sides, with a uniform bezel thickness that’s increasingly common on higher-end phones. A centered punch-hole cutout at the top houses the selfie camera, helping the display keep a clean, symmetrical look for gaming, streaming, and everyday use.
While the design reveal is important, the biggest attention-grabber is the confirmed battery size. Xiaomi says the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will pack a massive 9,000mAh battery, a major step up from the Turbo 4 Pro. The company also claims that thanks to chipset efficiency and system-level optimizations, real-world endurance could feel closer to what you’d expect from a 10,000mAh-class battery. If that holds true, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max could be one of the most compelling options for buyers who prioritize long battery life without stepping away from high performance.
With that 9,000mAh rated capacity, the Turbo 5 Max is also positioned as Xiaomi’s largest-battery smartphone to date, making it especially appealing for heavy users—think long gaming sessions, extended navigation, content creation on the go, or simply going multiple days without needing to plug in.
As of now, Xiaomi hasn’t shared an official launch date, but the phone’s debut in China appears to be coming soon. For global markets, it’s expected to arrive under a different name: Poco X8 Pro Max, following Xiaomi’s common strategy of rebranding select Redmi models for international release.
Between the Dimensity 9500s performance focus, the refined display design, and one of the biggest batteries in its class, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max is quickly shaping up to be a standout upcoming phone for power users who want speed and endurance in one package.
