Xiaomi is gearing up to make significant strides with its next ‘Ultra’ branded flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, particularly focusing on enhanced camera capabilities. According to recent leaks, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra might have a shorter market presence, as the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is anticipated to make an earlier-than-expected debut.
Reports suggest that while the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro will be among the first devices to feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 platform this autumn, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is not far behind. It is expected to be released in January 2025, potentially coinciding with the launch of Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is rumored to excel in videography. It is expected to feature a ‘Concert Videography’ mode, optimizing video quality even at 30x zoom levels. Additionally, the device is speculated to sport a telephoto camera boasting a 200 MP resolution on a 1/1.4-inch sensor, although it might only offer 4x optical zoom, contrary to earlier rumors of 7-8x zoom capabilities. This impressive 200 MP sensor is likely to be part of a camera setup that includes three additional 50 MP sensors, possibly available in time for the Chinese Lunar New Year on January 29.
With these advancements, Xiaomi seems poised to continue its push for top-tier camera performance in its flagship smartphones.
