Vivo X500 Pro Confirmed With Compact Design and 64MP Zeiss APO Telephoto Camera
The Vivo X500 Pro is shaping up to be an exciting option for users who want flagship-level photography in a more compact smartphone. While it will sit below the larger Vivo X500 Pro Max in the lineup, the smaller Pro model is still expected to deliver impressive camera performance, especially in zoom photography and video recording.
According to details shared by Vivo executive Han Boxiao on Weibo, the Vivo X500 Pro will feature a Zeiss APO telephoto lens designed to offer high-quality long-range imaging. This confirms earlier leaks suggesting that Vivo is focusing heavily on portrait, zoom, and stabilized telephoto performance for its upcoming flagship device.
The Vivo X500 Pro will reportedly use a 64-megapixel Sony Lytia 610 sensor for its telephoto camera. This is different from the higher-end sensor expected on the Vivo X500 Pro Max, but Vivo appears confident that the compact model can still deliver premium results. The company claims the telephoto system will achieve CIPA Level 7 stabilization, which should help reduce shake when capturing zoomed-in photos or videos.
One key difference between the Vivo X500 Pro and the larger X500 Pro Max is the main camera stabilization system. The compact Vivo X500 Pro is not expected to include the 3-degree OIS gimbal-style stabilization found on the Max version. Even so, the device is still being positioned as a strong mobile photography contender thanks to its advanced Zeiss optics and telephoto stabilization technology.
The special design of the Sony Lytia 610 sensor is also said to improve autofocus and subject tracking. This could make the Vivo X500 Pro especially useful for capturing moving subjects, whether shooting portraits, pets, sports, or everyday action scenes.
