Vivo X500 leak reveals retail box and redesigned rear camera module
Fresh hands-on images appear to have revealed the upcoming Vivo X500 ahead of its official launch, giving fans an early look at both the retail packaging and the phone’s rear design. The leak, shared by user Lee Quyết, shows what looks like a sealed Vivo X500 retail box, followed by another image in the comments that reveals the back of the device.
The most eye-catching detail is the rear camera layout. The Vivo X500 appears to feature a large circular camera island positioned toward the left side of the back panel. Instead of sitting directly flush with the body, the camera module rests on a raised platform, giving the phone a bold and premium appearance.
This design lines up with earlier leaks, suggesting that Vivo may be preparing a major visual refresh for its next X-series smartphone. The separate flash placement is also notable, as the flash unit appears to sit to the right of the main camera island rather than inside it. This gives the rear panel a more distinctive look and could help the Vivo X500 stand out in a crowded flagship smartphone market.
Based on the leaked image, the camera island seems to include three major sensors. One of them appears to be a periscope telephoto lens, which could allow for stronger optical zoom performance. The other two are expected to be the main camera and an ultrawide lens, giving the device a versatile camera setup for everyday photography, landscapes, portraits, and zoom shots.
Vivo’s X-series phones are known for focusing heavily on camera quality, and the Vivo X500 looks set to continue that tradition. If the periscope telephoto lens is confirmed, the device could appeal strongly to users who want a smartphone with advanced mobile photography features.
The leaked retail box also suggests that the Vivo X500 may be moving closer to launch. While the company has not officially confirmed the full specifications or release date, the appearance of boxed units often indicates that preparations are already underway.
For now, the Vivo X500 remains an unreleased device, but these early hands-on photos offer a promising first look. With a redesigned camera module, a premium rear layout, and what appears to be a powerful triple-camera system, the Vivo X500 could become one of the more interesting smartphones to watch in its category.
