Huawei is set to expand its MateBook lineup with an exciting new addition to its collection of versatile devices. After making waves with its innovative competitor to the ThinkPad X1 Fold in 2025, Huawei seems poised to introduce a 2-in-1 device that stands out as a potential rival to the latest Microsoft Surface Pro.
This intriguing device, possibly the new “MateBook E,” is expected to seamlessly integrate with Huawei’s existing lineup, such as the MateBook Pro and Pura 80 Ultra, by utilizing HarmonyOS 5. This operating system promises enhanced app interchangeability, allowing users to effortlessly transition between mobile, smartphone, and PC applications.
Under the hood, the new MateBook E might be powered by Huawei’s cutting-edge Kirin X-series chipsets, either the Kirin X70 or the X90, which were previously featured in the MateBook Fold.
Huawei hasn’t updated the MateBook E series since 2023, largely due to the popularity of the MatePad line with its keyboard capabilities. However, the latest MatePads boast impressive features, including an 11.5-inch display with a PaperMatte panel.
As Huawei continues to innovate, the anticipation builds around what the MateBook E could offer. This new device promises to be an ideal companion for Huawei smartphone and laptop users, enhancing productivity and connectivity in a unique 2-in-1 experience.
