Huawei Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max arrive with premium displays, advanced cameras, and flagship pricing
Huawei has expanded its Pura smartphone lineup with the Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max, two high-end devices aimed at users who want a premium screen experience and powerful mobile photography features. While the two phones share several flagship-level specifications, Huawei has clearly separated them through display size and camera hardware.
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro comes with a 6.6-inch display, making it slightly more compact than the larger Pura 90s Pro Max, which features a 6.9-inch screen. Both models use a 120 Hz LTPO AMOLED panel, offering smoother scrolling, improved responsiveness, and better power efficiency thanks to the adaptive refresh rate technology.
Photography is one of the biggest highlights of the new Pura 90s series. Both smartphones include a 50-megapixel main camera with a large 1/1.28-inch RYYB sensor. Huawei also equips the main camera with a variable aperture that can shift between f/1.4 and f/4.0, allowing users to capture brighter low-light photos or increase depth of field depending on the scene.
However, the more advanced LOFIC sensor technology is reserved for the Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max. This gives the top-tier model an advantage in challenging lighting conditions, especially when capturing scenes with strong contrast, such as bright skies, night lights, or backlit subjects.
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro features a 12.5-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, along with a 50-megapixel f/2.1 telephoto camera. The telephoto lens supports macro shooting and offers 4x zoom, making it useful for close-up details as well as distant subjects.
The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max takes the camera setup further with a 40-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide camera and a powerful 200-megapixel f/2.6 telephoto camera. This telephoto sensor is also a large 1/1.28-inch RYYB unit and supports 4x optical zoom, positioning the Pro Max as the stronger choice for users who prioritize zoom photography, portrait shots, and high-resolution detail.
In Malaysia, the Huawei Pura 90s Pro is available with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage for RM 3,699, which is approximately $909. The Huawei Pura 90s Pro Max comes with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage, priced at RM 4,899, or around $1,199.
Huawei has not yet announced full global pricing or wider availability details for the Pura 90s Pro series. For now, Malaysia is among the first markets to receive the new flagship phones, while international buyers will have to wait for further confirmation.
With its variable aperture main camera, premium LTPO AMOLED display, and upgraded zoom hardware on the Pro Max model, the Huawei Pura 90s series is clearly designed to compete in the flagship smartphone segment. The Pura 90s Pro offers a slightly more compact and more affordable option, while the Pura 90s Pro Max delivers the best camera package in the lineup for users who want Huawei’s most advanced mobile photography experience.
