Geekom has unveiled its latest innovation in compact computing with the launch of the A6 mini PC. This device is geared towards consumers seeking substantial performance without breaking the bank.
The A6 shares many features with Geekom’s previous model, the AS6, introduced in mid-2023. It boasts the same powerful Ryzen 7 6800H CPU paired with a Radeon 680M integrated GPU. Users will find a generous 32 GB of DDR5 RAM (configured as 2×16 GB SODIMMs) and a spacious 1 TB NVMe PCIe Gen 4 x4 SSD for quick and efficient data access. For those needing extra storage, the A6 also offers support for a 2.5-inch SATA drive.
A notable aspect of the A6 is its extensive port selection, making connectivity a breeze. On the front, you’ll find two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (10 Gbps) ports accompanied by a headset jack. The left side features an SD card slot, while the back is equipped with a DC-in, a high-speed USB4 port (40 Gbps, DisplayPort enabled), two HDMI 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet port, an additional USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 port, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port (also with DisplayPort), and a USB 2.0 port.
The design of the A6 facilitates user-friendly access to key components, such as the 2.5-inch SATA drive bay, the M.2 2280 NVMe drive slot, the wireless card (featuring a MediaTek MT7922 card compatible with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2), and the two DDR5 SODIMM slots. While basic access is straightforward, accessing the CPU and iGPU for potential repasting requires further disassembly.
Compact yet versatile, the A6 measures just 112.4 x 112.4 x 37 mm (4.43 x 4.43 x 1.46 in), making it a sleek addition to any setup. Additionally, it comes with a VESA mount, allowing users to conveniently attach it to the back of a suitable monitor, optimizing desk space.
Targeted towards budget-conscious tech enthusiasts, the Geekom A6 is currently available for just under $500. Moreover, Geekom frequently offers discount codes to provide additional savings, making it an even more attractive purchase for savvy consumers looking for efficiency and power in a petite package.
