Ubisoft is launching Vantage Studios, a new Tencent-backed subsidiary designed to steer the company’s biggest franchises into their next chapter. Described as a creative house, Vantage Studios will focus on flagship series including Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, uniting experienced teams and modernizing how these games are built and expanded.
Led by co-CEOs Charlie Guillemot and Christophe Derennes, Vantage Studios is positioned as the first step in a broader transformation at Ubisoft. The strategy is to organize core brands under creative houses that share a common DNA and development expertise, while giving teams more autonomy. By combining Ubisoft’s deep well of services, tools, technology, and cross-studio knowledge with greater hands-on control for developers, the company aims to accelerate decision-making and deliver experiences that resonate more strongly with players.
A key promise of Vantage Studios is to close the gap between community feedback and in-game improvements. The streamlined structure is intended to create a shorter path from player insights to implementation, without sacrificing the scale and support that major AAA franchises require. In practice, that means tighter iteration loops, smarter resource sharing, and more direct connections between creators and audiences.
Ubisoft emphasizes that Vantage Studios will build on decades of development experience while rethinking how its core franchises evolve. The goal is to strengthen the identity of each brand, nurture innovation within established worlds, and ensure long-term consistency across multiple studios and projects.
Vantage Studios brings together teams working on Ubisoft’s marquee IP across several global hubs, including Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia. This network spans thousands of developers, aligning talent across continents to support ambitious roadmaps for Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
As the first in a planned series of creative houses, Vantage Studios marks a shift toward a more flexible, player-focused Ubisoft—one that leverages shared technology and expertise while empowering developers to push each franchise forward with clarity and speed.
