Ubiquiti Unveils UniFi Whole Home WiFi 7 Mesh for Faster, Smarter Home Coverage

Ubiquiti Introduces Whole Home WiFi 7 Mesh System for Faster Home Networking

Ubiquiti has launched a new consumer-focused home networking solution called Whole Home WiFi 7, marking a fresh push into the residential router and mesh WiFi market. Designed as a simple but powerful upgrade for modern homes, the new system uses UniFi Express 7 units to deliver WiFi 7 coverage across multiple rooms with support for the latest wireless bands.

The Whole Home WiFi 7 system can be purchased with one, two, or three mesh units, making it suitable for apartments, medium-sized homes, and larger spaces that need stronger wireless coverage. Each unit is built to work as part of a mesh network, helping reduce dead zones and improve connectivity for phones, laptops, smart TVs, gaming devices, and smart home products.

This new release can be seen as a modern follow-up to Ubiquiti’s earlier home mesh networking products. While the company is widely known for its UniFi ecosystem and networking hardware, this new system is aimed at users who want a more polished home WiFi experience without giving up advanced features.

One of the biggest advantages of Whole Home WiFi 7 is its integration with the UniFi platform. That means users can combine it with other UniFi products and expand their network over time. It can also work alongside Ubiquiti’s travel router, including the newer long-range version, giving users more flexibility whether they are building a home setup or extending their network in different environments.

Each UniFi Express 7 unit includes a 10GbE WAN port and a 2.5GbE LAN port, making the system ready for high-speed internet connections and fast wired devices. This is especially useful for users with multi-gigabit broadband, network storage, gaming PCs, or other equipment that benefits from faster wired performance.

For wireless connectivity, the system supports WiFi 7 across the 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz bands. Ubiquiti says each unit can cover up to 1,750 square feet, though real-world performance will depend on wall materials, layout, interference, and device placement.

Mesh communication between units uses Multi-Link Operation, also known as MLO, over the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. This WiFi 7 feature can help improve speed, stability, and responsiveness by allowing devices or mesh points to use multiple wireless links more efficiently. For busy homes with streaming, video calls, online gaming, and smart devices running at the same time, this could make a noticeable difference.

The hardware is also designed to be compact and easy to power. Each unit uses USB Type-C and comes with a power adapter. Maximum power consumption is listed at 22 watts, keeping the system relatively efficient for always-on home networking equipment.

Pricing starts at $214 for a single unit, which includes a $15 memory surcharge. A two-pack is listed at $408, while the three-unit bundle costs $603. The multi-unit packages offer a small discount for buyers who want broader WiFi coverage from the start.

With Whole Home WiFi 7, Ubiquiti is targeting households that want faster wireless speeds, cleaner mesh coverage, and access to the UniFi ecosystem in a more consumer-friendly package. For users looking to upgrade from older WiFi 5 or WiFi 6 routers, this new system brings support for the latest WiFi 7 standard, multi-gig wired ports, and scalable mesh networking in one home-focused solution.
