TSMC’s 2nm Breakthrough: Record-Setting Production Fuels Big Tech Demand Surge

Taiwan semiconductor giant TSMC is set to make waves with its upcoming 2nm process, which promises to become a major revenue driver for the company. With plans to significantly ramp up production, TSMC aims to meet the increasing demand from the tech industry for this cutting-edge technology.

Anticipated to be TSMC’s priciest technology to date, the 2nm process aims to achieve an impressive milestone of producing 200,000 wafers per month by 2028. This ambitious target surpasses the levels set by the previous 3nm node.

The production of 2nm is expected to kick off in the second half of 2025, initially with a capacity of 40,000 units. Nevertheless, the transition to 2nm might happen with future products, albeit at a premium.
