The long-delayed Trump T1 Phone may finally be reaching customers. After months of uncertainty, shifting details, and speculation about whether the handset would ever arrive, Trump Mobile says the first pre-orders are scheduled to ship later this week.
The device was originally expected to ship in September after being announced in June 2025. However, customers were left waiting as the phone’s design, feature list, and release timeline appeared to change more than once. At one point, rumors suggested the Trump T1 Phone could be canceled entirely. Trump Mobile has now pushed back against those claims, saying deliveries are beginning soon and that it may take a few weeks to fulfill all pre-orders.
Even with shipping reportedly underway, questions remain. The company has not always been consistent about the phone’s launch details, and the official product information still does not appear to provide a complete specification sheet. That makes it difficult for buyers to know exactly what they are getting before the device arrives.
Based on current information, the Trump T1 Phone appears to be a gold-colored mid-range Android smartphone with hardware that closely resembles the HTC U24 Pro from 2024. It carries a $499 price tag, placing it in a competitive category where buyers can already find strong options from major Android brands.
The Trump T1 Phone is expected to feature a Snapdragon 7 series processor, a 6.78-inch AMOLED display, 512 GB of storage, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 30W USB-C charging. It also includes a 50 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultra-wide camera, a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom, and a 50 MP selfie camera.
On paper, those specs sound respectable, but the phone faces tough competition. Around the same price range, devices such as the Samsung Galaxy A57 and Motorola Edge 2025 offer strong displays, fast charging, modern camera systems, and clearer long-term software support.
One of the biggest concerns is software. The Trump T1 Phone is expected to ship with Android 15, even though newer Android versions are already on the horizon. More importantly, Trump Mobile has not confirmed a guaranteed Android update policy or a schedule for security patches. For a $499 smartphone, that could be a major drawback for buyers who want their device to stay secure and up to date over several years.
By comparison, the Samsung Galaxy A57 is expected to ship with Android 16 and offer six major Android updates, while the Motorola Edge 2025 ships with Android 15 and promises three major updates. That gives both rivals a clearer software roadmap than the Trump T1 Phone currently provides.
Battery performance is another area where the Trump T1 Phone looks only average. Its 5,000 mAh battery is typical for a mid-range device, but 30W wired charging is not especially fast by current standards, and wireless charging is not listed. The Motorola Edge 2025, for example, features a larger 5,500 mAh battery with 68W USB-C charging.
Camera hardware is also mixed. The Trump T1 Phone’s 50 MP selfie camera and 50 MP telephoto camera may attract attention, but the telephoto lens only offers 2x zoom. In contrast, the Motorola Edge 2025 includes a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom, while also offering a higher-resolution ultra-wide camera.
