Thermal Grizzly has introduced a new CPU water block aimed at high-performance custom liquid-cooling builds, and one detail makes it especially interesting for PC enthusiasts: support for Intel’s upcoming LGA 1954 platform.
The new Mycro Pro Stainless Steel CPU water block is designed for both current and future desktop systems. Thermal Grizzly is offering versions for AMD AM4 and AM5, along with an Intel model that supports LGA 1700, LGA 1851, and the upcoming LGA 1954 socket. That last addition strongly positions the block as a ready-made cooling option for Intel’s next-generation Nova Lake-S desktop processors.
Intel’s LGA 1954 socket is expected to be used with Nova Lake-S CPUs, and reports suggest it will remain very close in size and mounting layout to LGA 1700 and LGA 1851. Because of that, many existing coolers made for recent Intel platforms may continue to work with the new socket. Thermal Grizzly is now among the first cooling brands to openly list LGA 1954 compatibility on a new product.
The Mycro Pro Stainless Steel is built around an unplated copper cold plate, a stainless steel top section, and an anodized mounting frame. The copper cold plate uses an ultra-high-performance microfin structure designed to maximize heat transfer from the CPU’s integrated heat spreader into the coolant. On the Intel version, the block features 70 microfins, with both the fins and channels measuring only 0.2 mm.
Thermal Grizzly has chosen not to use nickel plating on the copper cold plate. This design decision can improve direct heat transfer and may also help reduce production costs. However, exposed copper can naturally discolor over time due to oxidation, which is mostly a cosmetic change rather than a performance issue when the loop is properly maintained.
For custom loop compatibility, the water block uses standard G1/4-inch fittings, making it easy to integrate into most liquid-cooling setups. EPDM O-rings are used for sealing, a common choice in water-cooling hardware due to their durability and resistance to coolant-related wear.
The launch gives PC builders a future-ready option for high-end cooling, especially those planning to upgrade to Intel Nova Lake-S while keeping their custom liquid-cooling loop. It also provides flexibility for users building around AMD AM4, AMD AM5, or recent Intel platforms.
The Thermal Grizzly Mycro Pro Stainless Steel for Intel LGA 1700, LGA 1851, and LGA 1954 is listed at $116.88 including VAT.
