Tesla has significantly reduced the prices of its CCS charger adapters and retrofit components for older Model Y, Model 3, Model S, and Model X vehicles. The CCS-to-NACS charging adapter, which debuted in 2022 at $250, now costs $125. Retrofit kits for older vehicles have also seen price cuts. The retrofit kit for the Model Y has dropped from $350 to $225, and the Model X/S retrofit is now $300.
The lower prices align Tesla’s adapter more closely with similar products like Lectron’s CCS-to-NACS adapter, currently priced at $111 on Amazon. However, while prices have decreased, the 4,000 referral credits required for obtaining one of these adapters remain unchanged.
Owners can verify if their vehicle needs a retrofit by checking the “Additional Vehicle Information” menu to see if “CCS charging and third-party NACS DC charging” features are enabled.
