TCL has unveiled an extensive lineup of seven new smartphones at the Mobile World Congress, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to catering to a wide array of consumers. The highlight of this launch is the TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G, an innovative flagship model incorporating cutting-edge display technology.
The series boasts of models like the TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G and TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G, both equipped with the latest NXTPAPER 3.0 technology. This new feature presents users with a display that minimizes blue light emission and offers a paper-like reading experience with less glare, akin to e-ink technology. The TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G comes with a 6.6-inch 90Hz HD+ display, while the larger TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G includes a 6.8-inch 120Hz FHD+ display. Both models will feature a 50MP main camera.
For users looking for an alternative, TCL offers the TCL 50 5G which shares the same display as the TCL 50 XE but starts with 4GB of RAM and does not include the 50MP camera. Meanwhile, the TCL 50 SE targets entertainment enthusiasts with its non-NXTPAPER display from the TCL 50 XL, 12GB of RAM, and DTS 3D boom sound dual speakers.
The TCL 50 LE provides yet another option with a 90Hz display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage, and a smaller 4,000mAh battery, compared to the 5,010mAh found in its other series counterparts. This particular model is predicted to have a starting price of around $99, although its availability is not yet determined.
TCL plans to release the TCL 50 5G and SE in the EMEA market at approximately €149 each in the second quarter of 2024. The US will see the arrival of the TCL 50 XL 5G through Metro by the second quarter of 2024, priced at $169 or less. The 50 XE is expected to become available unlocked for around $149 in the third quarter of 2024. The high-end NXTPAPER versions are anticipated to launch around the same period, with the NXTPAPER 5G priced at approximately $229 and the XL model at about $199.
