Shelly Unveils Wall Display XL: A Bigger, Smarter Command Center for Your Home

Shelly has quietly expanded its smart home lineup in Europe with a new in-wall control panel called the Shelly Wall Display X2i. Designed as a central hub for everyday home automation, the X2i lets you manage compatible devices from a dedicated touchscreen—ideal for households that want quick, family-friendly control without reaching for a phone.

At a glance, the Wall Display X2i looks and feels familiar if you’ve seen the earlier Wall Display X2 that launched in 2025. It keeps the same 6.95-inch color touchscreen and can be installed either horizontally or vertically to fit different rooms and wall layouts. The display offers a 1440 x 720 resolution and supports 5-point capacitive touch, making it suitable for tapping through scenes, toggling devices, and navigating smart home controls smoothly.

One of the practical benefits is built-in power monitoring visibility when paired with compatible Shelly PM products, allowing you to check energy consumption directly on the wall panel. It also supports touchless interaction thanks to an integrated gesture sensor, which can be useful when your hands are wet or messy in places like kitchens or utility rooms. A LUX sensor is included as well, enabling automatic brightness adjustment so the screen remains readable without being overly bright at night.

Connectivity is modern and ready for busy smart homes, with Bluetooth 5.0 and dual-band Wi-Fi 6 support. Internally, Shelly has also made a notable change: the Wall Display X2i swaps the older Unisoc SC7731E quad-core A7 processor (1.3GHz) for a Rockchip RK3326-S quad-core Cortex-A35 chip clocked at 1.5GHz. In day-to-day use, that kind of upgrade typically points toward snappier interface performance and improved responsiveness during routine control.

The Wall Display X2i uses an interchangeable power base. The included base provides a single output for one-circuit control, and the modular approach suggests flexibility for different installation needs. There’s also a built-in 0.8W speaker, and the panel works with the Shelly Smart Control App as well as Home Assistant, which will appeal to users who prefer local control and broader smart home integrations.

Pricing in Europe is set at €199.53 through Shelly’s online store. Right now, the silver version is available, while the black option is listed as out of stock. Shelly hasn’t confirmed if or when the Wall Display X2i will arrive in other regions, so availability outside Europe remains uncertain for now.
