Seiko’s Limited-Edition Collab Watch Arrives in a Playful House-Shaped Box

Seiko has introduced a charming new limited-edition Hangyodon collaboration watch, bringing together Japanese watchmaking and one of Sanrio’s most lovable characters in a playful collector’s piece. The watch went on sale on October 8 through Premico, with only 2,000 units available.

Priced at 49,280 yen including tax, or roughly $311, this special Seiko x Hangyodon watch is designed for fans who enjoy subtle character details rather than loud branding. Each watch features an individually numbered caseback from 1 to 2000, making every piece part of a strictly limited run.

The standout feature is the dial. Officially described as emerald green, the color appears soft and sea-glass-like in product images, matching Hangyodon’s ocean-inspired world. At the 12 o’clock position, a small gold shell adds a decorative touch, while Hangyodon and his octopus friend Sayuri appear together near the lower part of the dial.

One of the most delightful details is hidden near the 4 o’clock position: a small narutomaki, the pink-swirled fishcake often seen in Japanese dishes. It is a clever nod to Hangyodon’s favorite hiyashi chuka, giving the watch a thoughtful character reference that longtime fans will appreciate.

The caseback continues the theme with an engraving of Hangyodon and Sayuri, along with the limited-edition serial number. Seiko also includes a special presentation box shaped like a small house, decorated with shells and starfish. The back panel shows the two characters resting together, adding an extra layer of personality to the packaging.

In terms of specifications, the watch keeps things simple and wearable. It uses a stainless steel case and bracelet, with compact dimensions of 34.8 mm by 29.1 mm and a slim 7.9 mm thickness. Inside is a quartz movement with an accuracy of plus or minus 15 seconds per month. It also offers 10 bar water resistance and uses a curved Hardlex crystal.

The bracelet can be adjusted from 12 cm to 18 cm, and a tool is included in the box for resizing. The watch is made in Japan and comes with a three-year warranty.

Shipping is scheduled to begin in late December, making this limited-edition Seiko Hangyodon watch a timely collectible for Sanrio fans, Seiko enthusiasts, and anyone looking for a fun yet understated character-themed timepiece.
