Seiko has introduced a new limited-edition Prospex diver that blends vintage inspiration with a striking European design theme. The new Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010 is limited to just 1,400 pieces and will be sold exclusively through European retailers, making it one of the more region-specific releases in the brand’s modern dive watch lineup.
The standout feature is its deep green sunray dial, inspired by Lake Hallstatt in Austria. The color gives the watch a rich, natural character, shifting subtly under different lighting while keeping the classic tool-watch feel that defines the Prospex collection. Combined with gilt-colored hands and markers, the HBC010 has a warm, heritage-driven look without feeling overly retro.
At its core, the watch is a modern interpretation of Seiko’s original 1965 62MAS diver, an important model in the brand’s history. The familiar case shape remains, but Seiko has refined the proportions for today’s buyers. The stainless steel case measures 40 mm in diameter, 13 mm thick, and 46.4 mm lug-to-lug, giving it a compact and wearable profile for a professional dive watch.
Seiko also upgraded the practical side of the design. Water resistance is rated at 300 meters, improving on earlier versions that offered 200 meters. The watch includes a screw-down crown and screw-down caseback, both essential features for serious water resistance. Unlike many Seiko dive watches, the crown remains positioned at 3 o’clock, preserving the original 62MAS-style layout.
The green theme continues onto the unidirectional rotating bezel, which matches the dial with a dark green insert and gilt detailing. This gives the watch a coordinated appearance while maintaining the functional purpose expected from a dive bezel. Magnetic resistance is rated at 4,800 A/m, adding another layer of everyday durability.
Inside the Seiko Prospex HBC010 is the in-house 6R55 automatic movement. This caliber offers manual winding, hacking seconds, 24 jewels, and an impressive 72-hour power reserve. That means the watch can be taken off for a weekend and still be running when picked up again. The date window is placed at 4:30, a choice that keeps the dial balanced while preserving the vintage-inspired design.
Seiko includes two strap options with the watch. Buyers receive an updated stainless steel bracelet featuring a push-button folding clasp, wetsuit extension, and slide adjuster. A black silicone strap is also included, giving owners a more casual and water-ready alternative for diving, travel, or summer wear.
Pricing varies slightly by region. In the United Kingdom, the Seiko HBC010 is listed at £1,450, while European pricing is reported at €1,650. The difference suggests that UK and Eurozone prices may have been set separately rather than based purely on currency conversion.
With only 1,400 pieces available and no current sign of a wider global launch, the Seiko Prospex 1965 Heritage Diver HBC010 is likely to attract collectors who appreciate limited-production dive watches, vintage Seiko design, and distinctive dial colors.
