Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 celebrates the Indian tiger with a bold diver’s watch design
Seiko has introduced a new India-exclusive Prospex diver’s watch that brings one of the country’s most iconic animals to the wrist. The Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 is inspired by the Indian tiger, combining a deep amber dial, black ceramic bezel, orange accents, and premium diver’s watch features in a limited run of only 1,000 pieces.
The standout feature is the dial. Seiko has given the watch a rich amber finish with a fine textured pattern designed to evoke the look and character of tiger fur. The warm tone is paired with large white hour markers and broad hands for strong visibility, while a red seconds hand adds a sharp visual contrast. A date window sits at 3 o’clock beneath a magnifying lens, giving the watch a practical everyday touch.
The lower section of the dial carries the Prospex logo and red “DIVER’S 200m” text, reminding wearers that this is more than a collector-focused special edition. It remains a capable automatic dive watch built for real-world use.
Surrounding the dial is a black ceramic bezel with white dive markings and a rose gold-toned outer edge. Orange minute markers from 12 to 20 minutes add another tiger-inspired detail while improving readability during timing. The stainless steel case measures 43.8mm across and 12.8mm thick, giving the watch a strong wrist presence that fits the adventurous character of the Prospex line.
Seiko pairs the HBB005K1 with a stainless steel bracelet, but buyers also receive an additional black silicone strap. This gives the watch two distinct personalities: a more polished look on the bracelet and a sportier, more practical style on the silicone strap.
Inside the watch is Seiko’s 4R35 automatic movement. It supports manual winding and offers approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The watch also features a sapphire crystal, a useful date magnifier, and 200-meter water resistance, making it suitable for swimming, diving, and everyday wear.
To complete the special-edition theme, each Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 arrives in dedicated tiger-themed packaging. It also includes a photo print of an Indian tiger captured by wildlife photographer Aarzoo Khurana, adding a collectible element that ties the watch more closely to its inspiration.
The Indian tiger theme is especially fitting because India is home to the world’s largest wild tiger population, with an estimated 3,682 tigers. By drawing from this powerful national symbol, Seiko has created a Prospex model that feels closely connected to the Indian market while still appealing to international watch collectors who appreciate limited-edition dive watches.
The Seiko Prospex India Limited Edition HBB005K1 is available through Seiko Watch Boutiques and Seiko Watch Salons across India. Production is limited to 1,000 units, and the watch is priced at ₹1,07,000, approximately $1,118. Online sales through Seiko India are scheduled to begin on September 21.
