Samsung is bringing a more affordable QD-OLED gaming monitor to the US with the new Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH). Priced at $599.99, this 27-inch display targets players who want smooth 240Hz performance and OLED-level contrast at a lower cost than Samsung’s previous OLED G6 options.
At the core of the Odyssey OLED G6 G61SH is a 27-inch QD-OLED panel with a sharp 2560 × 1440 (QHD/1440p) resolution and a native 240Hz refresh rate. Samsung pairs that with a very fast 0.03ms response time and AMD FreeSync Premium variable refresh rate support, which helps reduce tearing and stutter in fast-paced competitive games. For HDR fans, it supports HDR10 and HDR10+ Gaming, though its listed 400 nits peak brightness means HDR highlights won’t be as intense as on higher-end OLED monitors that push significantly higher peak brightness.
Color performance is another major selling point. The monitor is rated for 99% DCI-P3 coverage and is both Pantone Validated and Pantone SkinTone Validated, aiming to deliver accurate, consistent color right out of the box. That makes it appealing not only for gaming, but also for streaming, content creation, and anyone who wants a more color-accurate OLED monitor without spending premium-tier money. Additional features include an anti-glare coating, OLED care and protection tools, and an ergonomic stand designed for comfortable adjustments during long sessions.
To hit the lower price, Samsung does make a few trade-offs compared to the more premium version of the Odyssey OLED G6. Connectivity is simplified: you get one HDMI 2.1 port, one DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone jack. There’s no USB-C and no USB hub, which may matter if you’re trying to run a single-cable setup with a laptop or rely on monitor-based USB ports for peripherals. The exterior also shifts to a black plastic frame instead of a more premium metal design, and this model doesn’t appear to include a heat pipe cooling solution found on the higher-tier version.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 (G61SH) is now available in the US for $599.99, offering a strong mix of 1440p clarity, 240Hz smoothness, QD-OLED contrast, and Pantone-validated color—while trimming extras like expanded I/O to keep the price more accessible.
