Samsung Unveils 2026 Odyssey Gaming Monitors With First 6K Model, New OLED Displays, ViewFinity Upgrades, and Movingstyle Essential
Samsung is pushing its monitor lineup into a new era with its 2026 collection of Odyssey, Odyssey OLED, ViewFinity, and Movingstyle displays. The biggest highlight is the arrival of what Samsung describes as the industry’s first 32-inch 6K IPS gaming monitor, giving gamers, creators, and power users a sharper and more versatile screen option than ever before.
The 2026 Samsung monitor lineup includes two new Odyssey gaming monitors, refreshed Odyssey OLED G7 and OLED G8 models, updated ViewFinity S8 productivity displays, and a larger Movingstyle Essential monitor designed for flexible home use.
The standout model is the Samsung Odyssey G8 G80HS, a 32-inch IPS gaming monitor with a massive 6,144 x 3,456 resolution. That gives it a pixel density of 224 pixels per inch, making it exceptionally sharp for both gaming and creative work. At full 6K resolution, the monitor supports up to a 165 Hz refresh rate, which is already fast for such a high-resolution panel.
For competitive gamers who prefer speed over maximum resolution, Samsung includes a Dual Mode feature. This allows the Odyssey G8 to switch down to 3K resolution, or 3,072 x 1,728, where the refresh rate climbs to an impressive 330 Hz. This makes the monitor suitable for both visually rich single-player games and fast-paced esports titles.
Samsung says the Odyssey G8 reaches up to 400 nits peak brightness and supports HDR10, HDR10+ Gaming, Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and AMD FreeSync Premium. That combination should help reduce screen tearing, improve motion smoothness, and deliver better HDR performance in supported games.
Samsung is also introducing the Odyssey G7 G80HF, a 27-inch model with a 5K resolution of 5,120 x 2,880. With a pixel density of 219 pixels per inch, this model is also aimed at users who want crisp visuals in a smaller form factor. At full 5K resolution, it supports up to a 180 Hz refresh rate. When switched to QHD resolution, or 2,560 x 1,440, the refresh rate doubles to 360 Hz.
Like the larger Odyssey G8, the Odyssey G7 supports HDR10, HDR10+ Gaming, Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, and AMD FreeSync Premium. This makes it a strong option for players who want a balance of high resolution, fast refresh rates, and adaptive sync support.
Samsung’s OLED gaming monitor lineup is also getting new additions for 2026. The Odyssey OLED G7 G73SH is a 32-inch 4K monitor with a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160. It supports refresh rates up to 165 Hz at 4K and can reach up to 330 Hz at Full HD resolution.
Because it uses an OLED panel, the Odyssey OLED G7 offers an extremely fast 0.03 ms gray-to-gray response time. Samsung also lists peak brightness at up to 1,300 nits, along with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. The monitor supports HDR10, HDR10+ Gaming, and the deep contrast levels OLED displays are known for, making it especially appealing for gamers who want rich blacks, vibrant colors, and near-instant pixel response.
The Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 G80SH will be available in both 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. Both versions feature 4K resolution and a 240 Hz refresh rate, making them ideal for gamers who want high resolution without giving up speed. Samsung lists peak brightness at up to 1,000 nits, along with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, HDR10+ Gaming, and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support.
However, unlike some of the IPS Odyssey models, Samsung does not list Nvidia G-Sync compatibility for the Odyssey OLED G8. Even so, with OLED response times, a 240 Hz refresh rate, and strong HDR support, these models are positioned as premium gaming displays for players who want smooth motion and excellent contrast.
Beyond gaming, Samsung is also refreshing its ViewFinity S8 lineup for productivity-focused users. The ViewFinity S8 S85TH is a 40-inch curved monitor with a 5K2K resolution of 5,120 x 2,160. This ultrawide format provides more horizontal workspace, making it useful for multitasking, video editing, coding, spreadsheets, and creative workflows.
The 40-inch ViewFinity S8 uses a VA panel with a 4 ms gray-to-gray response time and a typical brightness rating of 350 nits. It supports up to a 144 Hz refresh rate, so while it is designed primarily for productivity, it can still handle casual gaming comfortably.
One of its most important features is Thunderbolt 5 support. Samsung says the port supports up to 80 Gbps data transfer and up to 140W charging, making it a strong option for laptop users who want a single-cable desk setup. The monitor also includes a KVM switch, allowing users to control multiple connected devices with one keyboard and mouse setup.
Samsung is also offering a smaller ViewFinity S8 S80HF model. This 27-inch flat monitor features a 5K resolution of 5,120 x 2,880, a 60 Hz refresh rate, and a 5 ms gray-to-gray response time. It is aimed more at users who prioritize pixel density and workspace clarity over high refresh rates. Compared with the 40-inch model, it has a more limited connectivity setup and does not include Thunderbolt 5.
The Movingstyle Essential monitor is also getting a larger 43-inch 4K version. Previous Movingstyle models were available in smaller 27-inch and 32-inch sizes, so the new 43-inch option gives users a bigger screen for entertainment, casual productivity, and flexible room-to-room use.
Like earlier Movingstyle displays, the new Movingstyle Essential comes with a movable stand. It supports height adjustment, pivot, swivel, and tilt, allowing users to position the screen more freely than a traditional desktop monitor. Samsung has not shared many additional technical details about this model yet, but the larger 4K panel should make it more appealing for home entertainment and multi-purpose setups.
Samsung has not confirmed pricing for the new Odyssey G8, Odyssey G7, Odyssey OLED, or ViewFinity S8 models. The company says the new monitors are already available in some regions, though availability may vary by market. The Movingstyle Essential is expected to launch later.
