Samsung Unveils New Odyssey Gaming Monitors, Including a 1,100 Hz Display Built for Esports
Samsung has revealed its latest Odyssey gaming monitor lineup, and the standout model is already turning heads: a 27-inch Odyssey G6 capable of reaching an incredible 1,100 Hz refresh rate. The new range, showcased at Gamescom 2026, includes several premium gaming displays aimed at competitive players, OLED enthusiasts, and gamers who want ultra-immersive screen sizes.
The upcoming Odyssey family includes four high-end models, ranging from a compact 27-inch esports-focused monitor to a massive 49-inch OLED display built for panoramic gaming. Most of the new models use OLED technology, while the fastest model focuses on pure speed with an IPS panel.
The biggest highlight is the new Samsung Odyssey G6. This 27-inch gaming monitor is designed for competitive players who want extremely fast motion clarity and the lowest possible input feel. It features a dual-mode setup that allows users to switch between QHD and HD resolutions depending on their performance needs.
At QHD resolution, the Odyssey G6 can run at up to 600 Hz, which is already far beyond most gaming monitors on the market. When switched to HD mode, the refresh rate climbs to an astonishing 1,100 Hz, making it one of the fastest gaming monitors ever shown. Samsung is clearly targeting esports players who prioritize speed in titles like shooters, battle royale games, and other fast-paced competitive genres.
The Odyssey G6 uses a fast IPS panel with a 1 ms response time. With a refresh rate of up to 165 Hz, the OLED G7 appears to be aimed at gamers who want a large-screen cinematic experience while still enjoying smooth performance.
For players who want both 4K clarity and extreme refresh rates, Samsung is preparing the Odyssey OLED G8. This 32-inch OLED gaming monitor supports a triple-mode configuration, giving users the flexibility to choose between resolution and speed. It can operate at 4K at 360 Hz, QHD at 520 Hz, and Full HD at 680 Hz. That makes it one of the most versatile models in the new Odyssey lineup, offering a strong balance between image quality and competitive performance.
At the top of the range sits the Odyssey OLED G9, a 49-inch flagship gaming monitor with a Double QHD resolution of 5120 × 1440. This ultra-wide format is similar to placing two QHD monitors side by side, creating a much wider field of view for immersive gameplay. It is especially well suited for racing games, flight simulators, open-world adventures, and multitasking setups.
The Odyssey OLED G9 runs at up to 360 Hz and uses Samsung’s 5th-generation QD-OLED panel. It also features Penta Tandem technology, which is designed to improve panel lifespan, increase brightness, and reduce color fringing. Samsung claims the display can reach a peak brightness of up to 1,300 nits, making it a strong option for gamers who want vivid HDR visuals alongside fast performance.
