The Samsung Galaxy A17 series is gearing up for its debut in Europe, with Italian retailer Epto letting the cat out of the bag a bit early. While these new smartphones promise some exciting upgrades, they might come with a heftier price tag compared to the A16 series.
The Galaxy A17 5G is rumored to start at €299.90, a bump from the previous base model, which launched at €229. Even on special promotion, it’s listed for €319.90. However, the increased cost includes a boost in internal storage, doubling to 256GB alongside 8GB of RAM, a significant upgrade from the A16’s 128GB.
Intriguingly, even the 4G/LTE model doesn’t offer much of a price break, inching close at €289.90. So, what’s driving this price increase? The A17 5G is expected to feature a more durable build, possibly incorporating Gorilla Glass Victus, and an upgraded 50MP main rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization.
Despite these enhancements, the A17 might retain some familiar elements from its predecessor, such as the waterdrop-notch display and the Exynos 1330 processor. It also shares the same IP54 rating and 5,000mAh battery as the A16 5G.
For current Galaxy A16 owners, the decision to upgrade might not be urgent, considering the similarities. However, the enhanced storage, design, and camera capabilities could tempt those looking for a refreshed experience with the A17 series.
