Huawei’s upcoming flagship tablets are poised to offer what Apple’s top-end iPad Pros haven’t: a truly cross-platform, PC-like user interface. The anticipated MatePad Pro 2026 series could feature an advanced version of HarmonyOS, enabling it to use the same apps as Huawei’s MateBook laptops.
While the iPad Pro 13 M4 still sits at over $1,000 on the market and hasn’t yet transformed into the macOS convertible some users crave, Huawei is focusing on expanding the cross-platform capabilities of HarmonyOS. According to reliable sources, Huawei plans to “fully integrate” its PCs and tablets, eventually allowing the MatePad series to run MateBook apps.
This integration, however, might only be realized once the latest HarmonyOS 6 beta stabilizes. The current tablet lineup includes 13.2- and 12.2-inch Pro models, but rumors suggest a potential 14.2-inch version featuring a high-end OLED display. Despite this, its Kirin 9-series processor may fall short of matching Apple’s M5 platform in performance.
As Huawei continues to innovate, these advancements could redefine the tablet experience, offering users greater versatility and integration across devices.
