Retroid Pocket 5 Debuts Two Fresh Colorways Inspired by the Pocket G2

Retroid is giving its Pocket 5 handheld a fresh new look with two newly added color options that are available to buy right now. If you’ve been considering an Android-based retro gaming handheld, these new finishes make the Pocket 5 even more tempting without changing the price.

The two new colors are Yellow and Turquoise. They join the four launch colors already offered for the Pocket 5: GC (Purple), 16 Bit (Gray), White, and Black. What’s especially interesting is that Yellow and Turquoise originally appeared as exclusive options on the Pocket G2, a closely related handheld that has now been discontinued. Since the Pocket 5 and Pocket G2 share the same overall design, it makes sense that Retroid is bringing those popular shells over to keep the lineup feeling new and give buyers more choices.

Despite the update, the Retroid Pocket 5 price stays the same at $199. Retroid is also selling its official Pocket 5 Grip case in matching Yellow and Turquoise, so you can keep the look consistent while making longer play sessions more comfortable. The grip case costs $15.

For current owners who don’t want to buy another handheld just for a different color, Retroid also offers “clear” backplates for the Pocket 5. These replacement plates come in Ice Blue, Ice Green, Crystal, and Black, making it easy to customize your device and switch up the style whenever you want.

As a quick refresher on what the Pocket 5 offers, it features a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a 60Hz refresh rate, powered by a Snapdragon 865 processor. You get 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, plus expandable storage for larger game libraries. It ships with Android 13, and includes a 5,000mAh battery, built-in cooling fan, Wi‑Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.1. Controls are also a strong point, with Hall Effect thumbsticks and analog triggers designed for better feel and durability over time.

With two bold new color options, matching accessories, and easy customization upgrades, the Retroid Pocket 5 is positioning itself as an even more appealing retro handheld for anyone who wants portable emulation and Android gaming in a sleek, modern package.
